MEN
OUR MEN'S SQUAD STRUCTURE
This is a flagship squad for the most committed rowers. Members of the senior squad are asked to train six days per week and receive the support of high quality coaching on the water and in the gym. Senior squad rowers aim to represent the club at Henley Royal Regatta and at the British Rowing Championships.

Masters rowing is available to those aged 27 and above. The Twickenham Masters Squad accommodates those who either cannot give the commitment required for the Senior squads or who have reached a greater maturity, but who still wish to enjoy competitive rowing. The training schedule is entirely flexible with two weekly land training and up to four water training sessions available per week. The squad regularly fields crews in head races and regional regattas as well as major events like the National Masters.
Our Masters programme accommodates both sculling and sweep rowing although improving single sculling skills is also a key aim of the programme. We benefit from a dedicated masters coach who has also designed a dedicated training programme for the squad.
The Club squad was introduced in 2016 and has a rapidly growing membership. It is for all those who are not able to train as frequently as the competition squads but would like to get out in boats 1-3 times a week to get fit, improve technically and get involved in the social side of the club.

Our development squad takes graduates from our Learn2Row programme and prepares them for entry into our senior and masters squads over the course of a year. They enjoy excellent facilities at TwRC and first class support from a dedicated and experienced coaching team. We want our novice rowers to fall in love with the sport whilst building technique and fitness.
The training is challenging but not daunting, with the number of sessions per week varying during the year, typically 4 times a week. Practically every session is coached and our novices experience every boat type from singles through to eights. TwRC novices can expect to compete in winter head races and summer regattas. Selection for race crews is based on attendance, a mixture of performance on the water and on indoor rowing machines.
On completion of their novice year, TwRC rowers can expect to look back on a fun and rewarding 12 months as a fully fledged 'rower', having mastered solid technique, greatly improved their fitness and hopefully have won their first races.
