The senior men’s eight produced arguably one of their best rows of the season so far at Marlow regatta by placing 47 out of 104 crews in the time trial. With a time 5:48.0 they qualified for the F Final as the highest placed tier 3 club crew, winning the Frawley Bowl in the process. Marlow regatta, is one of the final key pre Henley preparation events and as always produced an exceptionally strong field of crews from across the country who were all looking to put down a marker prior to Henley Royal. The final saw Twickenham start in the less favourable lane 8 but despite this stayed in touch of a tightly contested field dominated by tier 2 clubs. Birmingham University A emerged as eventual winners with only five seconds separating first place and Twickenham in 8th position. It was a very encouraging performance by the senior men who will look to improve further for Henley Royal qualifiers next week.
